Eric Changchien, MD

Dr. Eric Changchien is a board-certified surgeon with Mission Surgical Clinic who specializes in minimally invasive general and colorectal surgery. His clinical interests include laparoscopic and robot-assisted surgery for colorectal cancers, diverticulitis and inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Changchien treats patients for various anorectal conditions, including hemorrhoids, anal fistulas, and anal fissures. In addition, he performs laparoscopic gallbladder removal and hernia repair.

Dr. Changchien earned his medical degree at the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago, followed by a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at St. Mark’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Dr. Changchien is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. He was named Corona Regional Medical Center’s 2017 Physician of the Year. He is the author of many peer-reviewed articles and conference presentations.

Dr. Changchien sees patients at Mission Surgical offices in Corona and Riverside. He is also on staff at five Inland Empire area hospitals. He is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
