Michael Tran, MD

Dr. Michael Tran is a board certified surgeon by the American Board of Surgery. He is board certified in General Surgery and fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. He specializes in surgeries of the gastrointestinal tract and bariatric surgeries. These include: heartburn & gastroesophageal reflux disease, hiatal hernias, stomach tumors and cancers, esophageal motility diseases, abdominal wall and groin hernias, and gallbladder removal. Dr. Tran is also trained in the use of the LINX device for heartburn and reflux management. For bariatric surgeries, his expertise also includes laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy and laparoscopic roux-en-y gastric bypass.

Dr. Tran received his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He then completed his General Surgery residency training at the Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Tran then went on for further fellowship specialization training in Advanced GI, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery at the University of California – Irvine Medical Center in Orange, CA.

Dr. Tran is an active member of the American College of Surgeons,  the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the America Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), and Southern California Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. He is the author of many surgical book chapters and conference presentations.

Dr. Tran’s goal is to give compassionate, and advanced state-of-the art surgical treatment to his patients. He treats patients at Mission Surgical Clinic’s offices in Corona and Riverside and is on staff at numerous Inland Empire area hospitals.
